Federated Learning for Physical Layer Design

چکیده
Model-free techniques, such as machine learning (ML), have recently attracted much interest toward the physical layer design (e.g., symbol detection, channel estimation, and beamforming). Most of these ML techniques employ centralized (CLK) schemes assume availability datasets at a parameter server (PS), demanding transmission data from edge devices, mobile phones, to PS. Exploiting generated edge, federated (FL) has been proposed distributed scheme, in which each device computes model parameters sends them PS for aggregation, while are kept intact edge. Thus, FL is more communication-efficient privacy-preserving than CL applicable wireless communication scenarios, wherein devices. This article presents recent advances FL-based training problems. Compared CL, effectiveness presented terms overhead with slight performance loss accuracy. The challenges, model, data, hardware complexity, also discussed detail along possible solutions.

متن کاملFederated Meta-Learning for Recommendation
Recommender systems have been widely studied from the machine learning perspective, where it is crucial to share information among users while preserving user privacy. In this work, we present a federated meta-learning framework for recommendation in which user information is shared at the level of algorithm, instead of model or data adopted in previous approaches. In this framework, user-speci...

In the last years the tendency to have higher data rates in cellular mobile phone networks, has been growing very rapidly. LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the current standard, which provides very high data rates having Orthogonal Frequency Multiplexing (OFDM) as a key feature. In this work rst is the question why OFDM is neccessary for LTE downlink is answered and then topics like OFDM receiver a...
